Jasmine Care Home


Jasmine House Nursing has 2 managers 1 in each wing, 4 registered nurses during the day and 2 at night. We also have up to 9 Carer’s on each wing during the day and up 4 in each wing at night.

The Manager regularly works 8am-4pm Monday to Friday, although this is flexible according to the needs of the Home. Management on-call cover is provided either by the Registered Manager, or the Deputy Manager.

There are three shifts for fifty-two residents:

  • Early 8am-2pm = 2 Managers, 4 Registered Nurses, 9 carers on each wing
  • Late 2pm-8pm = 2 Managers, 4 Registered Nurses, 9 carers on each wing
  • Night 8pm-8am = 1 Manager, 2 Registered Nurses, 4 carers on each wing

Activity coordinators highly trained in both wings. Administrative manager. 10-15 domestic, laundry, kitchen and maintenance staff each day.

Recent advances in dementia care such as reminiscence, doll therapy, gardening and laundry roll play are all taught.
WiFi is provided for residents and visitors, to enable them to have visual contact with family and friends.

Additional staff may be present due to the higher care needs of some residents. Additionally, there is a receptionist/administrator, chef, catering assistant, a laundry assistant and three domestic staff on duty each day.

Admission Criteria

The prospective service user will be assessed prior to admission in relation to his/her needs. The service user will usually be in the 65years and over age group and in need of nursing and/or dementia care.

This need may include any of the following:

  • Insulin dependent diabetes
  • Nursing care following a stroke.
  • Palliative care.
  • Risk of wandering and/or challenging behaviour.
  • Nutritional support through swallowing difficulties or peg-feeding.
  • Continence care.
  • Bedbound.
  • At risk of falls or self-neglect.
  • Pressure area and/or wound care.
  • Any other need deemed to require nursing/dementia care on a 24 hour basis.
